Combination birth control pills are very dangerous. They are oral contraceptive use to avert the risk of pregnancy. A birth control pill consists of active ingredients like progestin and estrogen.
Combination birth control pills also contain the same ingredients but it contains the combination of the two synthetic hormones which can affect the hormonal levels in one’s body very abruptly. The difference is made by the ratio in which the estrogen and progestin are present in the pill and it tends to vary with the duration of the course. The combination pills are of three types namely the monophasic birth control pill, biphasic birth control pill and the triphasic birth control pill. In a process to avert pregnancy the hormone level in the body is to be altered. The progesterone level is needed to be high for the mucus in the cervix to become thick; disallowing the sperm to fertilize the egg thereby prevents pregnancy.
A constant estrogen level is maintained by these pills, whereby the egg doesn’t travel from the ovaries to the uterus for fertilization. All these processes are achieved by altering the hormonal levels which can cause several side effects. These side effects are mainly associated with the biphasic and triphasic versions of the combination birth control pills causing various side effects it can cause severe blotting, tenderness of the breasts, aches in various parts of the body, nausea, blurry vision and severe headaches.
