There are a few advantages and disadvantages that come with using the viginal ring. Both should be taken into consideration before using it.

- Women wear it for three weeks.
- Fertility is effected each month.
- Women can still have sex without being interrupted.

Disadvantages With The Vaginal Ring:

- There is still a risk for getting sexually transmitted infections or diseases.
- There is a higher chance for women to get either a stroke or a heart attack.
- There must be a prescription in order to use it.
- On rare occasion women can still become pregnant.

Women who want to decrease their chances of being pregnant still stand at a high chance of not getting pregnant despite the fact that some still get pregnant when using the ring. Talk with the doctor before using the vaginal ring and ask questions before using it.
