There are some side effects that come with taking emergency birth control pills but not everyone experiences them. If a woman is pregnant when taking these pills it will not have any harm on the baby even if the side effects happen.

Emergency birth control pills are given only as a prescription medication. There are some states that allow it to be done by phone while others don't. These pills should be reserved for emergencies only and not used on a regular basics such as a birth control pill. When side effects happen the doctor should be notified when they last for a few hours and don't disappear. Women that are using other medications might not be able to use emergency birth control pills because it could interfere with the other medications.
