As you grow old, you ability to get pregnant also reduces and this starts at the age of 25 years. If your health is not good or your periods are irregular, then the chance of infertility increases. Doctor advises that you must wait for the occurrence of first nominal period soon after the birth control methods are stopped. The reason behind this is the hormone level in your body is not at normal stage and this can adversely affect your baby.

So after the arrival of normal menstrual cycle, the hormones will be removed from the body and there will be no danger for your baby. This is not a rule because there are several women who conceive just within time of one or two weeks after the birth control measure is stopped.
