How does an IUD work?

The IUD is used by most women who don’t want hormonal methods of birth control. The IUD is inserted in to the uterus in order to prevent the ovulation of the egg. The copper or the plastic IUD might be inserted into the uterus to avert the pregnancy risks. The copper IUD placed within the uterus never release any hormone, while some IUD which are made from plastic which release estrogen and progesterone many a times.

The IUD inserted is hanging from the uterus to the upper part of the vagina. One of the advantages of this birth control method is that it isn’t visible during the intercourse. The process is reversible, whenever you desire to have the baby; you can have your insertion removed from the uterus. The IUD alters the lining of the fallopian tubes and uterus thereby making the union of egg and sperm difficult.

The lining of the uterus is made so thin it become very difficult for the sperm to reach the egg, similarly for the egg to travel via the fallopian tube to the uterus and meet the sperm. In this way IUS helps you achieve birth control. The process is believed to be highly effective and reliable solution for birth control.
