Natural birth control is when a woman checks her body to know whether or not she is ovulating. This is done by checking the mucus in the cervix. It has been said that without mucus the sperm cannot fertilized the egg.
After a period your cervix has a few days where it appears to be totally dry. As your cycle get further into the month the cervix produces more mucus.
As your body gets closer to ovulation the more a stretchy clear like mucus is developed allowing the sperm to swim to the egg in order to fertilize it.
To check for mucus, take your finger and insert it to the cervix and get a sample. If you can stretch the mucus up to three inches then ovulation is about to start.
After ovulation the cervix slows down again and less mucus is developed.
Used by itself this method is not as preventative as other methods, however; if you choose to use this method, have you doctor explain to you how to correctly check for the mucus. |
